Pilot Seating Systems

History

Pilot was established in 1963 in Bursa, doing body work for buses. First seat production started in 1967 with driver seats for Mercedes Benz (Otomarsan - Turkey). Development of the seating industry saw Pilot starting to manufacture truck and construction equipment seats in 1977, followed by tractor and forklift seats in 1989 and passenger seats in 1993 and marine seats in 2009.

The company was founded by Sukru Ozkilic (1921-1987), who was a former pilot and gave the name "Pilot" to the company. After his death, his son Ahmet Ozkilic, took over the company and with continuous improvement philosophy, carried it to an important position in the world stage, making Pilot a well-known brand for commercial vehicle seating. Third generation of Ozkilic family has recently joined the company and Pilot keeps growing in the global seating industry.
